Beverly Kills Reveal New Single "Eyes Wide Open"

Swedish synth pop/ post punk / dream pop band Beverly Kills have revealed their new single “Eyes Wide Open“.

The song is out today, and is the third taste of from their highly-anticipated sophomore album (TBA). They have previously shared “Hymn to You“ and “Sunset Drive“.

The band’s frontman Alma Westerlund says:

I see Eyes Wide Open as a farewell letter. A wish to let the past be the past. To let in the new, and say goodbye to the old. A sentimental song with forward thinking.”

Grab it here and take a listen below.

Beverly Kills “Eyes Wide Open” Lyrics:

Opened up
let it in
eyes wide open
please say that you remember

Letters written on paper planes
how I read them to you solemnly
a lullaby for those who care
a hymn to you and for all that’s fair
but I know

[1]
What’s already missed is already gone
already missed is already gone
all I ever wanted
already given
already won

I’d carry it on the tip of my tongue
from the ocean’s mouth to the suburbs
sixteen letters scribbled on the door
so much more than I ever asked for
ever asked for

Repeat [1]

What’s already missed is already gone
I’ve looked but I haven’t found it yet
already missed
already gone

Oh love lingers on melodies
count your wishes
count to three

Oh why plead to memories
just count your blessings
count them each
