South London-based indie/dream pop four-piece Bleach Lab have returned with their new single “Drown“.
The song, produced by Louis Takooree and Kieran Weston (Bleach Lab) is out now. Grab it here.
Commenting on the track, the band shared:
‘Drown’ feels like a new beginning for us. We poured so much love and time into this single and it feels so good to let it be all yours now. As an independent band we are now self producing (and even designing our own artwork) so this track feels authentically ‘us’, which makes it even sweeter to share with you now.
Lyrically ‘Drown‘ is about being stuck in a toxic cycle of going back to the same person, or always ending up with the same person even though they may not be that good for you. It’s trying to break out of that cycle and find the confidence to move on.
We were so excited to get back in the studio earlier this year, we spent a lot of time writing to try progress our sound, introducing newer elements, whilst also staying true to what we love. We wanted to challenge ourselves to write something a bit grungier with this one. At the time of writing, we had a lot of tracks we were super happy with, but wanted to explore a heavier sound. So we went into the studio, listened to a load of early The Cure and Nirvana and from there it all fell together quite quickly.
Take a listen now.
