Noise pop/shoegaze/alt duo Bright Like Stars have unleashed their new single “Reeling“. The song is taken from their upcoming album ‘Reflections‘, set to arrive on November 29.
Bright Like Stars is the new musical project of Neil Burkdoll (Whimsical, LoveBlind) and Craig Douglas (Neonach, Omega Vague). In late 2023, Neil moved to Germany and decided to start a new project while his band Whimsical was on hiatus. Bright Like Stars formed in November 2023 with vocalist Craig Douglas, and within two months, they wrote and recorded the music for 12 songs.
Over the next 9 months, vocals, mixing, and mastering were completed, resulting in an album that shows a more early 90’s “Alternative Sound” than the “Shoegaze/Dream Pop” sounds Neil is usually known for but with obvious hazy influences. Craig captured a dreamlike quality with his vocals that tied the songs together perfectly and elevated them to new heights.

“The title Reflections perfectly captures the feeling we were going for as each song captures the spirit of bands that meant a lot to us as teens growing up in the 1990’s. We want the listener to not know what is coming next from song to song but to still see the album as a whole overall.”
