Washington based darkwave/post punk/goth trio Datura have revealed their new single “War“.

Datura formed in 2017. Following their first two EPs, recorded and released independently, they released their first LP, Arcano Chemical on Northern California’s Sell the Heart Records in 2022. Now, with their new album, also released on Sell the Heart Records and in collaboration with Poland’s Bat-Cave Productions and the UK’s Engineer Records, Datura has hit their stride with their strongest effort yet.
Songs from a Dark House is a driving collection of catchy hits. The record shines a light on the feelings of isolation and confusion one often experiences living in the modern world. Lyrically, the album touches on themes ranging from burnout, love and loss, to addiction and war. Consider it the danceable darkwave soundtrack of your next panic attack.
“War” offers a blazing cyclical riff that showcases the trio’s powerful rhythm section before spiraling into a reverb-drenched chaos that seems befittingly reverent of bands like Killing Joke.
