Chicago indie pop/indie rock/trash pop trio Dehd have announced their fifth studio album ‘Poetry‘. The record’s lead single “Mood Ring” accompanies today’s announcement.
Co-produce by Ziyad Asrar of Whitney alongside Dehd’s own Jason Balla, the follow-up to 2022’s Blue Skies, will be out May 10 via Fat Possum Records. Pre-order your copy here.
According to the press release, Poetry is inspired by Charles Bukowski’s poem “The Laughing Heart” and its themes of urgency and spiritedness. Rather than a traditional writing session, band members Jason Balla, Emily Kempf and Eric McGrady took to the road to pen the tracklist for Poetry, traveling from Taos, New Mexico to Puget Sound and back to Chicago for further inspiration.
Lead track “Mood Ring,” is a love song written about an encounter with a seductive motorcyclist and comes. They have also announced more 2024 tour dates.
