Texas-based heatwave/post-punk/electronic music trio Don’t Get Lemon have dropped their new single “Last Chance for Romance“.
The track is the third taste of their sophomore album ‘Have Some Shame‘, due to be released on April 23 through à La Carte Records / Summer Darling Tapes. Pre-order your copy here.
Have Some Shame revolts against the bored distant gaze of cliché coldwave, and instead retaliates with the warm fiery embrace of what the band dubs “Heatwave.” This heartfelt sound forms an idiosyncratic identity that also wouldn’t be out of place in a classic John Hughes 80s film soundtrack.
Of the track, they shared: “Last Chance for Romance is the anthemic rise and fall of dancing feet on the dancefloor of a crowded club to the sound of lonely feet walking home. Synth pop meets jangle pop in this confession of bravado and insecurity. This song lives in the dreams of our aspirations as well as our embarrassing recollection of failures that keep us awake.”

Don’t Get Lemon “Last Chance for Romance” Lyrics:
In my head is where I follow you
But in the meantime I’ve still got a job to do
In my free time is when I see you
But in the meantime I’ve still got a job to do
Around here I hear they don’t know your name
But I still pretend to know you
Though I shouldn’t want to
Sing it might be your last chance
Don’t let your feet fall off
Don’t stop the dance
Still kiss me I’m your last chance for romance
Sing it might be your final chance
Don’t let your head fall off
Don’t stop the trance
Still dance with me
I’m your last chance for romance
I have a song to sing
With my hair so pristine
If I don’t stop my feet
They won’t see defeat all over my face
My glass blue lips and last great claim
I only wanted your love and acclaim
What’s now imagined once was proved
A thousand plans and nothing to do, and nothing to do
Sing it might be your last chance
Don’t let your feet fall off
Don’t stop the dance
Still kiss me I’m your last chance for romance
In my head is where I follow you
My selfish ways still have a job to do
In my head is when I see you
My selfish ways still have something to prove
I have a song to sing
With my hair so pristine
If I don’t stop my feet
They won’t see defeat all over my face
