Washington, DC alternative/rock duo Flasher, comprised of Emma Baker and Taylor Mulitz, have unleashed their new single “Eastern Ave” alongside an accompanying music video.
The song is taken from their upcoming EP ‘In My Myth‘, which will be out on May 5 via Domino Record Co. Pre-order your copy here.
The band continued their collaboration with Owen Wuerker on production, and Jorge Elbrecht (Sky Ferreria, Japanese Breakfast) mixing. Flasher will be touring Europe in May in support of the EP.
Commenting on the EP the duo said:
“In My Myth is a collection of songs written in between tours and between coasts. These songs are about reckoning with our own self-mythologizing, the sinister side of ‘wellness,’ watching relationships shift over time, and not being done yet.”
Commenting on the track, they say:
“Eastern Ave is a love song to your hometown and those that matter to you most. It’s a nostalgic dive back to those seemingly mundane moments that become markers of falling in love, or finding your people. The video takes a diaristic approach, juxtaposing our two parallel lives in our respective home bases – Emma in DC, Taylor in the Bay Area. It was inspired by watching Swampy’s Diary and countless other vlogs on YouTube.”
