UK electronic/dark disco artist Gemma Cullingford and UK poet Luke Wright have aired their collaborative single “You Are Making Progress With Your Therapist“.
The song serves as the lead single of their upcoming EP ‘FOMO‘ set to arrive in September via Elmo Records. Get it here.
The pair recorded the EP’s four songs via file sharing during lockdown in 2021, with Wright providing poems for Cullingford to cut up and put to music. They then crafted them into songs that would suit any dancefloor.
Commenting on the track, Luke Wright says:
“You Are Making Progress With Your Therapist is a poem that’s divided in half rather neatly on this song. It’s about “self-improvement” I suppose. About an old friend of mine who took to therapy like a religion. I don’t like the idea of there being “right way” to do anything, this is me kicking against that.”

Gemma Cullingford (one half of electronic post-punk duo Sink Ya Teeth) is a musician, songwriter and producer. Her music fuses dark yet danceable electronica with softly delivered vocals.
The dynamic between Cullingford and Wright very different characters provide an alchemy which gives their songs a unique sound. Both grew up in East Anglia and since the early 2000’s have shared the stage on a number of occasions.
