Canadian post punk/new wave/dark wave band Handful of Snowdrops have aired the 35th anniversary version of their classic track “Gabrielle“.

Early last year, when we were approached by Le Backstore-On The Roof to release a 35th anniversary edition of Land of the Damned on vinyl, their intention was to put out the ultimate edition. Lots of ideas were put forward. First, releasing it for the first time in the actual cover sleeve that was originally intended for it in 1988. Second, making it a double LP and include the four 1986 demos that famously served as the basis for our debut and also a remixed or re-recorded version of Gabrielle. That didn’t turn out to be difficult since I had already done it and planned to release it one the 1st of January 2023 as a modest 35th anniversary celebration.
Unfortunately, as the year progressed, with the prices starting to escalate rapidly and the inflation making buying and shipping expensive luxury items more difficult for most, it became clear that we would have to put the idea a an ultimate release to rest. But not all is lost. The new vinyl edition of the classic album is already on presale (http:bit.ly/lotd35) and in the merchandise section of Bandcamp page and I am releasing all the extra material that didn’t make it to the vinyl reissue exclusively here today! The new version of Gabrielle, the 1986 demos plus the intro of all our LotD era concerts!

Handful of Snowdrops is a postwave band, with the most dedicated fanbase any artist could dream of. HoS could probably be the biggest small and unknown independent band in the world! Active between 1984 and 1993, HoS returned with ‘III’ in 2015 and still going today.
