German indie rock/post punk/indie pop band HAVEMEYER have unleashed the video for their new single “Headlines“.

Havemeyer evoke nostalgia and bring pure bliss to the listener, reminiscent of The Smiths, Interpol and Sonic Youth. They effortlessly weave together orchestral guitars and big pop moments while their powerful live energy creates a pristine wall of sound.
«Headlines» could have been a contemporary Harry Styles joint with its characteristic guitar lines and evocative lyrics, but with Havemeyer it becomes a fresh dose of post-millennial angst feeding through jingly guitars and the soft glow of a late summer day. Pure bliss and forgetfulness in the face of a fucked up world.
Band member Jan Ebert comments:
“I remember a somewhat strange meal in a dreary buffet restaurant where no music was playing, everyone was just sitting there quietly waiting to fill up their plates. At the tables, everyone was to themselves and mostly absorbed in their cell phones. It all seemed very unsociable and was not what I was looking for when I decided to leave my apartment. This video addresses the emptiness of having to deal with yourself alone. Trying to make the most of a situation after suffering from great loss.”
