Manchester indie rock/indie pop/alt band Heavy Salad have dropped their new single “Wrong Window“, and is accompanying music video.
The song, produced in London UK at The Bunker at Studio 13 by the legendary Stephen Street, is out now via End of The Trail Records. Grab it here.
The group, charged up on a myriad of musical influences, create a cosmic slop of melodic 90s tinged rock and psychedelic 60s inspired pop infused with the bands eclectic love of surf rock, electronic pop gospel and folk.
Speaking about the track, which is about when WhatsApp chats go bad, they say:
“Wrong Window is the tale of instant messaging with not so instant karma! Yeah, you deleted the message but those double ticks created an ominous cloud shrouding the morning sunshine and that sleepless night with your eyes burning in their sockets has got those nerve endings frayed. It’s a revelation in the wrong window and you’re secretly thrilled.“

Formed in Autumn 2018 by Lee Mann (live bassist with The Moonlandingz), Rob Glennie and Allan Hutchison, Heavy Salad have since expanded to a seven-piece outfit, enlisting Ally McBoo, Esther Maylor, Lucy Hope (AKA The Priestesses) and Oscar Remers along the way.
Bonding over a joint interest in psychedelic horror films, (Panos Cosmatos’ surreal classic ‘Mandy’ in particular), they loved the idea of being in a band like a psychedelic cult and thus Heavy Salad was born.
The gang released their debut album ‘Cult Casual’ in 2020 on Dipped in Gold Recordings, and they are currently putting the finishing touches to their second LP recorded in West London with Stephen Street (Blur / The Smiths) at Damon Albarn’s Studio13 following their successful UK tour and trip to Austin Texas as official artists at SXSW 2022.
