Paris-based indie pop/jangle pop artist Peter Michel aka Hibou has returned with his new single “Night Fell“, taken from his just announced new EP ‘Arc‘.
Engineered and produced by Michel himself, the Arc EP was recorded in various spots around Paris and will be out on January 13, 2023. Pre-order it here.
Inspired by shoegaze greats both past and present, Hibou’s elegant arrangements are hard to pin down, falling somewhere between the indie-rock tinted musings of Beach Fossils and DIIV, the folk-flecked intimacies of Alex G and the tenderly tormented sound of The Cure.
Floating through a breezy blend of gossamer vocals, twinkling instrumentals and lush textured melodies, new single “Night Fell” is a delicate and jangling track that paves the way for Hibou’s new EP.
“It’s exhilarating to be releasing new Hibou music after spending so much of the last several years concentrating on my folk project,” Michel shares of the new EP. “‘Night Fell’ feels like the perfect song to kick things back into gear. Packed tightly into this track is my return to the lush textured melodies and breezy blend of gossamer vocals that comprise Hibou.” He adds.
