Holm the solo project by Mikkel Holm Silkjær (from Danish indie rock band Yung) has released his new single “Lose the Shoes” alongside an accompanying music video.
Holm released his debut solo album “Why Don’t You Dance” last year, since then, he’s been touring Europe as well as working on the follow up, expected early fall 2023. “Lose the Shoes” is a first taste and another proof of his continuous development as a songwriter and his sharp ear for a hook.
Commenting on the track, Holm says:
“Lose The Shoes is a song about being haunted by flashes of remembrance of a person you once loved but have now parted ways with. The song contemplates the figurative room you find yourself in when you detach yourself from this person. It’s a room of many sensations, racing thoughts, no lust and at times it feels like a room without a door, however, ultimately this room leads to change and sometimes when you’re stuck you don’t fully comprehend how freeing change can be.”
About the video, director Manon Mugnaini Girault, says:
“Lose the Shoes is a powerful anthem about the journey of healing and finding peace after a major life event. Our music video follows the artist as he searches for comfort through the perfect chair, only to discover that sometimes the path to healing is filled with unexpected twists and turns. Join us on this visual journey of growth, resilience, and self-discovery.”
