Holy Ship Shares New Single "Godless You"

Stockholm based indie rock/psychedelic/shoegaze artist Jonatan Westh aka Holy Ship has shared his new single “Godless You“ – a tale of a now distant kin – enduring strains and the journey through the depths of longing, paradoxical refrain of life.

The song is out now via Declared Goods and is the first taste from his highly-anticipated debut album ‘Beyond Frames‘, due to be released on January 2024. Get it here.

With his critically acclaimed previous EPs Sub Macabre (2022), Les Deux Regards (2021), and Event Horizon (2019), Holy Ship has found a growing global fanbase. His unique mastery of blending shoegaze, dreamy synths, and fuzzy psych rock riffs, aka psych-gaze, is now Holy Ship’s signature sound.

Take a listen below.

Jonatan Westh launched Holy Ship in 2018, after his shoegaze band Blackstrap had disintegrated after a decade. Building his own studio, ‘The Mothership’ in Stockholm, Westh mixed various recordings for Stockholm bands, Runtom Knuten, and danmarck which then sparked the recordings to what would be his new music as HOLY SHIP.

Westh performs all instruments on the recordings except drums by longtime collaborators David Götestam and Sebastian Forslund, with Henrik Sunbring co-producing and mixing.

Holy Ship “Godless You” Lyrics:

I have a brother. He never calls.
He breaks my heart, and that might be his goal.

Lost In A Maze, In this never-ending phase
But I can see you, your in an empty space.

He’s got the brain, but his mind it is to blurred.
Intelligence wasted, and lost in the absurd

He’s into Jesus, Dear God leave me alone,

But what if you came to bring back the sunshine.
What if you came to hold back our tears.
And now the time has come for a break down.
When you’re embracing all of your fears.
