Austin new wave/synthpop project Holy Wire (aka Alain Paradis) has unveiled his new single “Lost“, and its accompanying video.
The track features on his highly-anticipated debut album ‘The Ending of an Age‘, produced by Abe Seiferth (Nation of Language, Yeasayer), due to be released on June 5 via A la Carte Records. Pre-order it here.
Holy Wire have carved out a niche taking early post-punk and cold-wave sounds and refashioning them into hi-fi synth-pop. The music hangs on a precipice where robotic drums, rigid basslines, and synthetic blips out of a soviet laboratory give way to a gauzy, dreamlike chorus. Icy synths ebb and flow, instilling a sense of perpetual winter.
