Brighton indie punk 7-piece KEG have unleashed their new single “St Michael“.
The song is taken from their highly anticipated debut album “Fun’s Over“, out today, March 14 via Alcopop! Records. Buy it here.
The debut album represents the culmination of KEG’s initial forays into life, and as such leaps all over—from the melodic to the demented with all the enthusiasm of a very lively bean salad. Sharp angling guitarwork that would be at home both on a Fugazi or a Wilco record. Cascading synths and drums, pepperings of trombone and lyrics which invite you into a baffled man’s brain full of joy and anxiety.
After embarking on an Independent Venue Week tour in Jan/Feb 2025, the band kicked off a run of March 2025 album tour dates this week with a SOLD OUT show at The Lexington in London, recently announcing further UK/EU live dates (see the dates below) and a TRUCK Festival appearance.
‘St. Michael’ represents a more personal trip into the catastrophizing effect grief can play on one’s mind—when you lose someone very suddenly you start to think about all the terrible things that can happen every day, almost comical once you see them from afar, desensitising yourself.
