Oxford indie rock/alt band Lacuna Common have unleashed the video for their latest single “Margarita“.
The track is taken from their sophomore EP ‘Godspeed‘, which came out earlier this month (July 4). Grab it here.
Godspeed is a riotously fun collection of five tracks that sees the band expand on the strength of their 2021 debut It’s All Talk and captures the raw energy that the band have been known for displaying in their live shows.
‘Margarita’ features overlapping guitar lines and showcases the band’s gentler side. While the band strives to maintain the vitality of their early work, they recognize that there is a need for them to showcase a more sophisticated and mature approach to songcraft, which ‘Margarita’ demonstrates with gusto.
Speaking about it they said: “This EP has been 2 years in the making. The first song we put together on this record was Margarita in the summer of 2022- that was the first song that really clicked with us as a band since the release of It’s All Talk. We knew that song was a bridge to a new sonic progression and we had to cross it. We wanted to make music that we love. Songs that we would want to dance to.”
