Lost in Vancouver has been performing since 2015. From early beginnings at Kirkcaldy YMCA to headlining sold-out shows in Scotland LIV has captivated fans from around the world with their energetic, anthemic, and infectious catalogue of songs. The band take influence from artists such as, Kings Of Leon, The Killers, Catfish and The Bottlemen, and The Strokes.
Written in the summer of 2022, “Voicemail” captures the story of an unexpected break-up, predominantly from the protagonist’s perspective. At the beginning of the story, he lives in a blissfully ignorant headspace but as the song progresses and he eventually hears from his other half, reality becomes something he can no longer hide from.
The instrumentation of the song starts off with a feel-good, summery type approach, but as the climax of the song draws nearer, the elements of the song intensify. The outro really stands out as one of the strongest sections, with colourful harmonies, catchy melodies, and a driving rhythm section.
