Oxford indie dance/alt quartet Low Island have announced the release of their third studio album ‘bird’.
Along the announcement they have also shared their new single “Spit It Out“ and its accompanying video. The follow-up to their 2022’s album, Life In Miniature, will be out on May 29 via their own label Emotional Interference. Pre-order your copy here.
The album was produced by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor and recorded at the legendary La Frette Studios, Paris. Speaking about it, they say:
“We have written these songs live, in the room together, working with one of our heroes – Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor – to produce the album. It has been as exposing as it has been cathartic. It has not been an efficient, optimised process. But in making it, we have learnt about ourselves. We have reminded ourselves of what a band is, what our band is – individuals coming together to make something greater than the sum of their parts. Making this record has been a way for us, however quietly, to assert our humanity and presence at a time when we are constantly being led to believe that what we are and what we have is never quite enough. We are happier for it..”
