Los Angeles, CA synthwave/synthpop/indie electronic artist Madeline Goldstein has premiered her new single “Other World“.
The song serves as the title track of her upcoming EP ‘Other World’, out on May 11 through à La Carte Records, we have already heard her previous track “Seed of Doubt“. Pre-order it here.
“Other World” is a continued exploration of the artist’s marriage of synth-drenched darkwave as well as spacious new wave, at its entrance, it lures listeners with weaving, segmented drums, droning synths and a soaring soprano delivery bridging the ethereal yet danceable trademark of Goldstein’s style.
The main vocal line, delivered with Goldstein’s signature elegance, gains intensity towards its climactic third act. Finally, the track culminates as backing vocal harmonies careen, levitating above the composition and making way for a distant saxophone to bring a soothing warmth to the track’s end.
Of the track, Madeline states:
“‘Other World’ is a fever dream of a song lifted from the darkness of my loneliness, it’s about looking at the edge of your own desires but not being able to say what you really want and it’s also about not advocating for yourself and the spiral of self-doubt in love and creativity.”
