Kraków, Poland post punk/coldwave/alt artist Mekong has premiered his new single “Going numb” alongside an accompanying video.
The track is the first single taken from his upcoming album ‘Danse Danse‘, out in early 2024 via French label Icy Cold Records. Grab it here.
Mekong crosses post-punk with a glimpse of that 80’s goth culture. It speaks the mind of one half-alienated man living in Krakow. It’s minimal yet powerful with strong bass lines and echoing guitar sounds all over.
In “Going Numb”, the hypnotic fusion of post-punk and dark wave weaves a haunting tale of a girl’s last night out, where the dance floor becomes her sanctuary one final time. Amidst the pulsating beats and disco-inspired rhythm, she embraces the numbness, surrendering to the melancholic melodies that guide her through a poignant journey. The song encapsulates her bittersweet dance, capturing the raw emotions of her final moments before the inevitable darkness descends.
