South London post punk/new wave musician/producer Michael Georgian has premiered his new single/video “Suburbia“.
The song is out today (Nov 29) via Strong Island Recordings. Get it here.
Michael Georgian is a twenty-something, producer who, after playing in various bands throughout his early years, has struckout on his own. Employing an array of analogue synthesisers and dulcet vocal tones to a danceable rhythmic effect, the resulting sound and live show is a mix of heavy drum machines, live visuals and a devious on-stage persona and intensity that has been compared to a televangelist preacher. For fans of Gary Numan, Fad Gadget and Boy Harsher.
Following his enigmatic debut single ‘Televised’, ‘Suburbia’ is his second release with Strong Island Recordings. Delving into dystopian territory, the new wave enthusiast pairs gothic drum machines with tumbling analogue synth sequences, layering futuristic sounds beneath his brooding affected vocal.
Georgian explains: “The single is a lamentation on the engulfing sense of doom felt across small town England. Impossible to ignore but impossible to escape.”

Michael Georgian “Suburbia” lyrics:
Take me by the hand
Im walking down the dead end streets
To try and find my self a plan
Put it all on the line
So I can feel it any time
I don’t know if I waste away again
Keep your head down
There’s money in the bank
You’ll never leave this town
Stuck in the cul de sack
Stuck until you crack
We’re all out for blood
Where there were fields there’s refineries
To drill deep in the mud
In the overgrowth
Sowing seeds to come
By the time of the sunrise we will all be done
Feel it coming on
Like a heart attack
But Nothings ever wrong
In the cul de sac
Keep your head down
There’s money in the bank
Never leave this town
Stuck until you crack
All alone in the dead of night
The bad feelings gone and the rest will subside
Suburban dream
There’s no getting away
Keep your head down
There’s money in the bank
Never leave this town
Stuck in the cul de sac
Just keep your head down
There’s money in the bank
you’ll never leave this town
Stuck until you crack
