Irish electronic/synthwave/dance duo Nixer (made up of Seán Keenan and Simon Gardner) have shared their new single “The Book“.
The song features on their forthcoming EP ‘I hit the town and the town hit me back‘, set to arrive on May 17 via Blowtorch Records. Pre-order it here.
The Nixer sound is a fusion of two people on two sides of the Atlantic – Seán in London and Simon in New York. Two very different musical backgrounds juxtaposing to position Nixer in a place where their sound is truly unique and original yet always developing. It could be described as ‘New Wave’ and is a fusion of vocals, guitar and synths. They cite influences in their music from acts such as Boy Harsher, Molchat Doma, King Krule, Fontaines D.C., and The Stone Roses.
Sonically this EP is a distillation of the trademark Nixer sound: uptempo and visceral, all whilst delicately balanced with the perfect amount of pop sensibilities. It was recorded, produced and mixed in bedrooms in London, LA, and NYC. Mastered by Rude 66 in California.
The Book continues the act’s run of diverse singles, from both a sonic and thematic perspective. Stream it below.
