Pastel Return With New Single “Your Day”

Pastel Return With New Single "Your Day"

British indie/brit rock band Pastel have returned with their new single “Your Day“, and its accompanying video.

The song, produced by singer/producer J. Fender (Afflecks Palace), is out now via Manchester indie label Spirit of Spike Island, and is the first taste of their highly-anticipated debut album set for release in spring 2024.

UPDATE 09/11/2023: “Your Day” is our new Single of the Week!

Pastel commented, “The tribal drum beat and roaring guitars are war-like, a manifestation of our mindset growing up on the streets of Manchester. Hope and optimism pepper the lyrics but the music on this tune is bellicose for a reason. ‘Your Day’ is a statement; an opening shot fired. Our debut album is coming.”

The band, made up of Jack Yates (vocals), his cousin James Yates (rhythm guitar), Joe Anderson (lead guitar), Liam O’Shea (bass) and Rhys Wheeler(drums), share influences as varied as Shack, Radiohead, The Charlatans, Blossoms and New Order. Their rise so far has seen support emerge from various influential names.

Their debut EP ‘Deeper Than Holy’ laid the foundation for a new wave of essential Madchester music, and went straight to #1 on the UK vinyl chart and sold-out its 12” vinyl pressing in just 90 seconds. The band’s critically acclaimed second EP ‘Deeper Than Holy‘, came out in October last year.
