Boston alt rockers Pixies have unleashed their new single “You’re So Impatient“.
The double A-side single, featuring their cover of 1950s classic ‘Que Sera Sera’, is out now, and marks the band’s first new music in two years. Grab it here.
The AA-side single finds Pixies creating a macabre and cinematic picture of American pop culture. Furious punk ditty ‘You’re So Impatient’ is an explosive two minute, nine second Zombie attack at the mall, before Pixies twist the classic 1950s standard ‘Que Sera, Sera’ into a dark folk tale, told anew through the lens of a sci-fi monster epic – originally recorded as the soundtrack for the US TV Show “From”.
Speaking about the song in a press release, Pixies frontman Black Francis said:
“‘You’re So Impatient’ is a slightly comedic suburban culture moment: there’s this guy, there’s this gal, there’s this tug-of-love dynamic going on. But the backdrop is the mall. And while the mall is crass, it’s also a very zombie, rock ‘n’ roll horror movie setting.”

Pixies’ North American tour with Modest Mouse and Cat Power starts tomorrow, June 4 until June 30. In July and August, the band will play a series of sold-out headline shows in Europe, including Glasgow Academy and Halifax’s Piece Hall, as well as a handful of festival appearances.
