Manchester indie dance/electronic band Porij have shared their dancefloor-ready groove “You Should Know Me“, and its accompanying video.
The track is out now and is the band’s debut release with Play It Again Sam (Nation Of Language, Westerman and Connie Constance). Grab it here.
UPDATE 11/06/2023: “You Should Know Me” is our new Single of the Week!
Porij had a massive 2022; releasing the outlines EP; selling out London’s iconic Heaven; performing a much-hyped Glastonbury set; and cementing themselves as burgeoning darlings at both press, radio and streaming. Porij ‘s new material is co-produced by the legendary David Wrench (Frank Ocean, The xx, Young Fathers). The band will perform a special show at The Royal Albert Hall with Little Dragon on November 22nd.
“You Should Know Me” is a tantalizing taste of what to expect from new Porij. Unusually for a new act, Porij straddle genre and refuse to stay in their musical lane. “You Should Know Me” is instantly moreish and deceptively depraved, setting the agenda for a massive 2024.
On the new single Porij say “The most balls to the walls tune on this record. This song sonically and lyrically is all about bravado. It explores the moments of anticipation before something could happen.“
