Sachet Announce New EP 'The Seeing Machine', Share "Crushing Whims (Ride)"

Sydney prog-pop quartet Sachet have announced the release of their new EP ‘The Seeing Machine‘.

The 5-track EP is out February 16, 2024 through Tenth Court, featuring their new single single “Crushing Whims (Ride)“, which is their first offering since their second LP Nets (2020). Pre-order your copy here.

Sachet formed in early 2016 after members Lani Crooksand Sam Wilkinson (Shrapnel, Dumbells) called it quits on their previous outfit, Day Ravies, with Lani taking the role of primary song-writer, as well as the addition of Nick Webb (Point Being) joining on guitar. This release is the first to feature drummer Kate Wilkinson (The Holy Soul), who joined the band in 2019 on the drums.

Crushing Whims (Ride) further indicates Sachet’s proclivity for short and sweet prog-pop sojourns, building upon a repetitive bassline, upfront vocals and candid lyrics such as “I am not connecting, you’re too invested, I’m infinitesimal; I am interested in understanding, not being destroyed…

Primary songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Lani Crooks says, “Crushing Whims (Ride) is a distressed love song about night bike rides”.
