Same Eyes “Two Drinks In” Lyrics:

In the evening light
You couldn’t spend the night you hit the pavement instead
Was it the things that you read?
You know I always wanna ask you
Oh but you said I never could do
On such a glorious night

You see the beauty in the brownstones
Smile to a man on the street
You’re not smiling cause you have to
Salvation swells as i sleep

Feel the heat rise from the blacktop
Without the stars providing light
Just brick and mortar, iron and stone
Brick and mortar aren’t things to let go

You said it once and don’t repeat yourself
When feelings spoken what’s cost
You find expression in your hometown
And inspiration when lost
I couldn’t beg you to stay
Those buildings calling your name
You’ve got your chin to the sky
Don’t know what lives and what dies

Runnin’ to the city
