Dublin post-punk/indie rock band SCATTERED ASHES have aired the video for their latest single “Feral“.
The song is part of our current playlist and came out in September 2022 via Reckless Records. Get it here.
Speaking about it, Scattered Ashes vocalist/guitarist Robert Dalton said:
“Feral marks our foray into more expansive sonic territory, incorporating the solemn and melodic with a deep reverence for the truth. There is a profound sense of hope conveyed throughout, with bright and ascending guitars underpinning the theme of redemption at the heart of this song. The track is a visceral scream at addiction and dependency – raw and personal subject matter.”
Of the video he added:
“We wanted to do something slightly left field with the video and have always strived to infuse art at a greater length within our work. The image we chose for Ian Grouse (the artist) to paint resonated deeply with this theme of degradation: Clodagh O’ Leary’s piece speaks of temptation and desecrated beauty. Having the video capture Ian in the process of painting this image highlighted the symbiotic nature between art and music.”

The band matches aggressive sonic textures with a strict sense of space, created by urgent guitar stylings as well as prophetic vocals. with a strict sense of space. Taking cues from acts such as Killing Joke, Interpol and Joy Division, the band sit in a darker lane than many of their contemporaries.
