The follow up to 2022’s “Boyhood”, finds Weber celebrating abundance and embracing his love for 80s and 90s soundscapes while also keeping a strong focus on polished arrangements and thoughtful songwriting that remains deeply personal whether it be in full-bodied anthems or moments of timid vulnerability. From forsaken escapism through frantic invocation, Weber upholds a sincerity in exploring matters close to the heart, manifesting a subtle grasp of the human experience. The 12 tracks on “Alter Ego” present a sophisticated new take on synth music.
Fans of late 80s Depeche Mode, OMD, Eleven Pond, and Parade Ground will appreciate Sleep Forever’s sleek approach to synth-pop.
