Spoon Speaker Man have unleashed their new single “Bargain Bin Bowie“, and its accompanying music video.
The song serves as the third and final single from their upcoming debut album ‘The Age Of No Opinion’, which will be out in October via Big Pond Records. They have previously shared the record’s title track and “Drove Me Sane”. Pre-order it here.
A thought-provoking and powerful song, the lyrics explore how the androgynous style began to evolve many decades ago, breaking down prejudices and entering a pop culture at a time when it was still transgressive to many people. Bowie was a trailblazer, who continued, despite the bewilderment and hostility at the time. The magnitude of Bowie’s music in breaking down stereotypes still resonates today. Perfectly accompanied by powerful and compelling guitar hooks, a pulsating bass line and pounding drums, the track’s impressive instrumentation is an acute acknowledgement of both Walker’s and Worton’s music career.
