Copenhagen-based emo/post punk / dreamgaze band Violence have unveiled their new single “Colour Decay“, featuring Denmark heavy shoegaze band Taker.
Th song is out now and is the second taste of their upcoming EP, they have previously shared “Midas“. Grab it here.
With deep roots inthe European punk and hardcore scene, shaped by more than 100 shows in the European underground scene, the band underwent a transformative musical evolution leaving the harsh punk sounds, to instead explore how a modern take on the late ’80s post-punk could sound like—a captivating journey infused with melancholy, airy atmospheres, and immersive synth soundscapes.
Drawing parallels to The Cure’s iconic “Disintegration” era, Violence has curated a sonic landscape that pays homage to the introspective allure of that era while injecting a fresh, contemporary perspective. In 2022, Violence’s debut album, “Area Sub Rosa,” earned acclaim, scoring anotable 5/6 rating from Danish music media, Gaffa. As they navigate their musical evolution, Violence keeps teasing new music.
