Leeds indie rock/punk band Yard Act have aired their new single “Petroleum” and its accompanying video.
The track is the second taste of their upcoming second studio album ‘Where’s My Utopia‘, due to be released on March 1st 2024 through Zen F.C./ Island. Pre-order your copy here.
Speaking about it, they shared: “Petroleum is a song about the sacred act of performing on stage that questions if the price of honesty values that of the ticket stub it took to get in. All inspired by one rocky winters eve in Bognor Regis when I threw it all away and told the truth.”
Of the video, director James Smith said: “‘Petroleum’ finds The Visitor as she stumbles into the hideout of a fearsome Biker gang called The Utopians. She’s still on the run from the H.G.E agents. It was a lot of fun shooting this video, and a joy to watch our friend Rose Matafeo bring the leader of The Utopians to life. Though the story isn’t being told in a linear format, I hope that the journey of The Visitor through the last three videos is starting to come together and reveal that we’re working on something bigger here. More to come!”
