ZZZAHARA Unleash New Single/Video "It Didn't Mean Nothing"

Los Angeles-based indie/alt musician ZZZAHARA have unleashed their new single “It Didn’t Mean Nothing“, alongside a video.

The song features on the upcoming album, Spiral Your Way Out, set to arrive on January 10 via Lex Records. Pre-order your copy here.

Zzzahara (the solo moniker of Eyedress/Simps guitarist Zahara Jaime)’s approach to songwriting is an instinctive one, and the headspace of Spiral Your Way Out was the result of taking a more instinctive approach to life in the aftermath of a breakup.

A cocktail of jangly riffs, walking bass lines and emotional sting, “It Didn’t Mean Nothing” brings a newfound jagged edge to zzzahara’s usual open-hearted confessionalism. “I was so mad I couldn’t think / All I did was lay in bed and scream,” they lament.

It’s the first track zzzahara worked on with one of the album’s range of producers, Jorge Elbrecht (Japanese Breakfast, No Joy, Sky Ferreira). They say:

Jorge had the drum pattern and guitar already prepared,” says . “I felt like I knew what I had to say when I started writing lyrics. I really held my problems in at the time so sitting there making music with Jorge felt like the escape I needed. We pulled that track together in just under four hours. It was magical. For the first time it felt like I met someone who worked as fast as I did.”
