Los Angeles nu disco/indie dance/psych rock band ASHRR have dropped their new single “Sway“, a sun-kissed dose of cosmic new wave and indie electronica laced with psychedelic hues.
The track features on their upcoming album ‘Sunshine Low’, due to be released on September 16 via Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Vision Recordings. Pre-order your copy here.
Formed of lead vocalist Steven Davis and producer-musician-vocalists Josh Charles and Ethan Allen; the outfit cast their net over electronic soul, post-punk, space disco and indie-dance to catch a sound reflecting the melancholic haze of late summer combined with the thrill of late-night adventure.
The new record finds them working by the old mantra of ‘art for art’s sake’. This effortlessly eclectic record collides electronic soul, post-punk, space disco and indie-dance and is rich in melancholic melody, hazy, late-summer moods and late-night dancing.
LA-based trio Ashrr return with another sun-kissed dose of cosmic new wave and indie electronica laced with psychedelic hues in the form of ‘Sway’.
The track comes accompanied with a new selection of remixes courtesy of ESP Institute imprint manager Lovefingers out now via Juno Records. Lovefingers supplies three genre-bending experimental dance gems perfect for summer terraces, pool-side parties, or the dance floors of Pikes. His take on the ASHRR original showcases dubbed-out oddities and psychedelic left turns in his signature style.
In addition to the Lovefingers reworks, ASHRR returns with their very own ‘Soundsystem Version’ offering up a tripped-out feel-good cut for the dance floor.
