Stannington Unleash New Single "Roads"

Newcastle-upon-Tyne indie rock/guitar pop/britpop band Stannington have unleashed their new single “Roads“.

The song is out now via Zeche Records and follows their debut single “Through You“, released last month. The band’s forthcoming debut ‘Farmers’ Market’ EP is scheduled for release in 2025.

Alongside the jangly croon of ‘Through You’, which nods towards Stannington’s quiet appreciation for the jangle pop of Sarah Records, ‘Roads’ announces the band’s self-confident attitude with a renewed take on British guitar music. The track introduces a more dynamic and abrasive sound, resonating more with the early Britpop and Scottish noise rock that the group takes influence from.

The track’s layered guitars and cutting solos, oscillating vocals and busy rhythm section shows off a different side of Stannington in advance of their first UK tour.

Stannington “Roads”

Born from the dissolution of New Horror, Stannington formed in 2022. Since its inception, the band has seen some early lineup changes before settling on a five-piece consisting of Lewis Thompson (vocals), Mark McGarry (guitars), Joe Munsey (Beige Banquet, guitars), Louis Clark (No Teeth, bass), and Charlie Radford (Swine Tax, drums and percussion).
