Nottingham, UK indie rock/post punk/alt band Bored Marsh have aired their new single “Alright, OK!“.
Named after a now-defunct shopping center, Bored Marsh are an alternative rock four-piece, who are starting to draw the recognition and attention of those further afield. Their reverb-soaked dynamic sound combines soaring melodic vocal and guitar harmonies, with darker, heavier sections. Taking inspiration from various eras of guitar music over recent decades, from early post-punk and grunge through to more recent shoegaze and new wave influences, references include the likes of Interpol and Radiohead.
Alright OK‘s layered reverberating guitars, huge driving bass hook, and intense drum breaks form a darkwave-tinged post-punk/grunge sound. Sky-scraping vocals, lyrically optimistic, with an underlying darkness following a challenging and traumatic period.
DJ / Producer sLEdger takes on remix duties, having recently caused ripples with a series of remixes for bands and artists such as Boy George and Fluke. He has released under various disguises, on labels like Tici Taci, Pegdoll, and Global Underground. Here, he provides a stunning version that fully utilizes the powerful vocal while maintaining the menacing, chiming post-punk vibes.
