Dog Race Return With New Single/Video "It's The Squeeze"

Bedford post punk/alt band Dog Race have returned with their addictive new single “It’s The Squeeze” and its accompanying music video.

The song, produced by Ali Chant (Dry Cleaning, Sorry, Portishead) is out now via Fascination Street Records and is their third oficial single, they have previously released “There’s A Mouse In My House”, and “Terror“.

UPDATE 2/5/2024: “It’s The Squeeze” is our new Single of the Week!

Formed by siblings Katie Healy (Vocals/Keys), and Jed Finkelstein (Drums) with James Kelly (Guitar), Dog Race believe in the power of patience, having built a feverous word of mouth buzz locally and for a series of mysterious, often last-minute DIY shows across London.

The original inspiration for the electronic elements of the track are inspired by Kraftwerk, a few years down the line the result is more haunted and reminiscent of the New Romantics of the 80s, of Siouxie or Elizabeth Fraser, in the vocals of Katie Healy.

Lead singer Katie Healy says the track represents a pivotal point in her last relationship – when it was beginning to become stifling. “I know that it’s my fault, but then it’s not, but then it is again” perfectly represents that internal struggle with yourself when a relationship is coming to an end, and these lyrics, coupled with the electronic sound of the track, feel cathartic, in many ways.
