London-based indie pop/dream pop artist Hongza has revealed his new single “I Hate My Skin” and its accompanying video.
The song features on his brand new EP ‘Coming Of Age’, out today, September 27th. Get your copy here.
Hongza (aka Sam Hong) weaves in ethereal soundscapes that transcend melodies as a portal to a sonic dimension where your soul is left adrift.
About the new release Hongza shares:
“Growing up I always felt like an outcast. People in school would bully me because of my race, I hated my ethnic identity so much that I would alter everything about myself not to be Vietnamese/Chinese. “I Hate My Skin“ is my apology to my younger self for having to experience that kind of trauma and my it gets better song…”
“I poured my heart and soul into making this EP and it is so personal to me! Each song is a snapshot of a moment in my life from falling in love with Amy, missing her, being broken from toxic friendships, feeling hopeless & coming to terms with racism I experienced growing up.”
