Liverpool electro-pop band Ladytron have revealed a surprise two decades in the making festive single “All Over By Xmas”.
The song is out now via Cooking Vinyl, and follows on from their seventh studio album “Time’s Arrow“, released earlier this year. Get it here.
Cut from the same cloth as ‘Time’s Arrow’, gorgeously adorned with their trademark analogue synths, and sleigh bells riding a wintery wall of sound, “All Over By Xmas” is a majestic glam stomp, in the festive tradition of ‘Stop the Cavalry’ and ‘Pipes of Peace’.
The surprise release arrives following announcement their first UK show of 2024: New Century Hall in Manchester on January 26. The band also recently announced their headline slot at the three-day Schellraiser Festival in Nevada in June and more dates will be announced soon. The band also close out the year with their seminal single “Destroy Everything You Touch” featured in Emerald Fennell’s new highly praised movie, Saltburn.

The band, comprised of Helen Marnie, Daniel Hunt, Mira Aroyo, and Reuben Wu, formed in Liverpool and has garnered two decades of recognition by continuously pushing limits, carving out new sonic and conceptual space, also refusing to follow formulas or trends.
At the beginning they played shows in unconventional spaces, such as disused banks and bowling alleys, and placed emphasis on countries and cities other than their own. Thus the group’s international recognition quickly grew – playing shows in places where few artists went at that time, such as China and Colombia.
