Lowpkin Premiere New Single "Buchlanov (So Lovely)"

French electronic/indie rock/new wave/post punk/dance band Lowpkin have premiered their new single “Buchlanov (So Lovely)“.

On March 7, 1983, Western pop culture took an unexpected turn. The Mancunian band New Order released the single “Blue Monday” which unwittingly synthesized the past, present and future of music: the darkness of cold-wave, the melancholy of synth-pop and the trance of acid-house. From that day on, rockers would also want to be able to dance. All the music that the members of LOWPKIN have listened to and played over the last 25 years stems from that famous March 7.

The music of LOWPKIN is therefore part of the same dynamic today. We find the abrasion of shoegaze and noise, the seismic shocks of dub, the despair of post-rock, the obstinacy of krautrock, the cold groove of techno… The trio sounds like one!!! (Chk Chk Chk) who would have listened more to Killing Joke than Talking Heads, like a WhoMadeWho who would pay homage to PiL, or D.A.F. who would have smoked the ashes of King Tubby in front of a John Carpenter film. Understand that each of LOWPKIN’s tracks drags you to the middle of the dance floor without asking your opinion, that they make you raise your arms and eyes to the sky in mysterious incantations, and that they give you the feeling of being alone in the world in the middle of a crowd in full communion.

LOWPKIN takes possession of souls to free bodies. I dance therefore I am.
