Beverly Kills “Marigold” Lyrics:
Oh how I pictured it
playing out a whole lot differently
walked out in the afterglow
you bought liquor in a brown bag
from your older brother
Oh so sick of myself
a porcelain figurine
standing there so unapproachable
shatters to a thousand pieces
by the slightest touch
So dead set
on the edge of my seat
still too faint-hearted
Oh marigold hues
smother what you cover
marigold hues
Oh the hours
thick as honey
etch into the skin
echoes of cautionary tales
Deviant rush
so sick of pretending
to throw up when they kiss on screen
but to be fair
you can’t rely on books for everything
Try again, try again
and try again
Oh marigold hues
smother what you cover
marigold hues
Oh marigold hues
smother what you cover
marigold hues
Marigold hues
always the same
the prettiest lie
beautiful shame
Marigold hues
always the same
up in the clouds
never to blame
Marigold hues
always the same
