Made up of Jack Yates (vocals), his cousin James Yates (rhythm guitar), Joe Anderson (lead guitar), Liam O’Shea (bass) and Rhys Wheeler(drums), Pastel has garnered a dedicated following in recent years, standing on the verge of a major breakthrough. Their music infuses Madchester swagger with the melodic, hypnotic haze of shoegaze and cites influences from bands such as Shack, The Charlatans, Ride, The Verve, New Order, and Radiohead.

In their short career to date, Pastel have already won some influential admirers, with filmmaker Charlie Lightening directed the band’s video for ‘BLU’, and also becoming Liam Gallagher’s new favourite band. Their debut EP ‘Deeper Than Holy’ (2022) laid the foundation for a new wave of essential Madchester music.
