Mexican darkwave/new wave/post punk band Rey Pila have released their new single “Running Blood“.
The track is taken from their brand new album, ESTAN STRANGE I, out today, November 28 via via Arts & Crafts México. Buy it here.
Formed in 2010, the band – comprised of Diego Solórzano, Andrés Velasco, and Rodrigo Blanco – has honed a distinctive blend of dark synth-pop and dance rock, drawing influence from iconic acts like The Cars, Depeche Mode, Aphex Twin, and Boards of Canada.
This new album captures the band’s consistent influences, but also adds new elements into the mix. Salem and the witch house genre blended with the French electronic music scene, the Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, techno, old school UK rave music and more in Rey Pila’s melting pot of inspiration.
The band are currently preparing for their tour to present this new material in Mexico and the United States in 2025, starting with one of the most important shows of their career as headliners at the Auditorio BB in Mexico City on January 25.
