New York indie pop / nu gaze / indie rock band Russian Baths have shared their new single “Hunger“, accompanied by a video.
The track is taken from their upcoming second album ‘Mirror‘, set to arrive on June 14th via Good Eye Records. Pre-order your copy here.
Russian Baths fuses the abrasive sounds of ‘80s New York, the angular outbursts of DC hardcore, shoegaze’s torrents of noise and the suffocating anxiety of the Information Age. Their operation goes deep. One part horror movie soundtrack, serene still life and personal confession, the band’s music is at once imposing and intimate. They’re named after the iconic co-owned bathhouse that itself reflects the dark and light histories of the city. As with their namesake, Russian Baths’ work is a place where hidden things happen, sometimes beautiful, sometimes tragic, always obscured, but calling to be explored.

Russian Baths “Hunger” Lyrics:
What if we drink the bleach?
Get inside our skin
Disinfect the sin that’s in our chest
What do we have to do
To wash the dirt that’s hid
And kill this feeling?
Hunger
Starve me
Hunger
Losing
Feeling
Hunger
Sin
No reflection
No reflection
In mirrors
I don’t see myself
I see someone else
Someone else
Hunger
Starve me
Hunger
Losing
Feeling
Hunger
