London-based synthwave/space disco band Spirits Of Saturn have premiered their cosmic new single “Space & Time“, and its accompanying video.
The track is out now and follows on from past singles ‘Feelings Agency’, ‘100mph’, ‘Transfigured’. Grab it here.
Formed in 2022, the band consists of Superorganism member Early Sans (synths/vocals), Edmund Blackadder (vocals), Scott Docherty (keys/bass), and Elian Lion (drums). While drawing inspiration from Kraftwerk, Todd Rundgren, The Doors, Daft Punk, Scott Walker, Roxy Music, and Suicide, their synth-led sound has a futuristic disco pop feel that gives a ray of hope amidst the current climate of dread, gloom, and economic unrest. They combine influences from the past with a punky modern edge.
The self-recorded track was mixed and mastered by Tucan, providing a futuristic dose of much-needed hope amidst the current mood of doom, gloom and economic discontent.
Speaking about it, they shared:
“Space & Time” came about in a time of depression, where you can’t escape your own negative thoughts and can’t stand the world around you, leaving you stuck with the irrational idea that there is no running from Space and Time. Sonically the song relies on layers of synth, organ and brass to create an otherworldly texture that captures the essence of the lyric.”
