German dream pop/indie rock/shoegaze band Swirlpool have revealed their new single “Reimagine” and its accompanying video.
The song, production by Lucas Adlhoch and mixed by RIDE’s Mark Gardener at OX4 Sound, is out now and is the first taste of their upcoming debut LP ‘Distant Echoes‘ due out in March. Get it here.
Inspired by 90s icons like My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive, ‘Distant Echoes‘ breathes fresh life into the best years of rock history.
Speaking about the new single, they shared:
“The single was one of the first ideas Tom came up with on rhythm guitar. The lyrics deal with our sometimes too-perfectionistic songwriting process, where we would spend days writing new interesting parts and sometimes just get stuck in a loop. It is about the agony of slow change and the need for re-invention.”
“Reimagine” is part of the band’s debut LP “Distant Echoes” which,
Led by Thomas A. Fischer, Markus Kraus and Chris Atzinger, the band from Regensburg has already caused some commotion in the alternative music scene since its formation in 2016.
Remaining loyal to the maxim “sounds better with reverb and distortion”, the band has captured the hearts of numerous enthusiasts.
