Sunglaciers Premiere New Single/Video "Fakes"

Calgary post punk/indie pop/psych pop outfit Sunglaciers have premiered their new single “Fakes” and its accompanying video.

The track is taken from their upcoming third album ‘Regular Nature‘ due to be release on March 29th, 2024 via Mothland. Pe-order your copy here.

Fake is a loaded post-punk rager about image in the digital era. This percussive no wave-y essay features kinky grooves, chorus-drenched basslines, manic guitar parts, otherworldly synthesizer outbursts, complete with absurd gossip… Amidst its patented arrangements, we are presented with great commentary with regards to social media: “All style, not a lot of substance/ Shut out, shut out the noise”.

Sunglaciers “Fakes” Lyrics:

Hear me out, it’s been a long whatever
Don’t tell me your thoughts about the weather
The future is coming very clear
Filter, the bad things disappear
Reading the room, try not to read too much
Discomfort, feel old feel tired feel out of touch

All style, not a lot of substance
Shut out, shut out the noise

I’m anxious, always acting up
And acting, you gotta be like somebody else
Reading your letter, do you think you’re so tough?
Subject, subject yourself to boundless love

All style, not a lot of substance
Shut out, shut out the noise
All style, not a lot of substance
Shut out, shut out the noise

I was 18 in 1985, I was 18 in 1985
I was 18 in 1985
And I’ll be faking till the day I die
(x2)

All style, not a lot of substance
Shut out, shut out the noise
(x4)
