Manchester indie dance / electronic band Porij have unveiled their new single “Ghost” and its accompanying video.
The track features on their much-anticipated debut album, Teething, due out on April 26 via Play It Again Sam Records. Pre-order it here.
Porij have endured the sharp pains of self-discovery. Every raw nerve, every bloody scrape and sprain, have been necessary for that unavoidable thing we must grit our teeth and bare: growing up. Vocalist and keyboardist Scout Moore (Egg), bassist James Middleton, guitarist Jacob Maguire and drummer Nathan Carroll are armed with hard-won experience, strengthened bonds and a renewed sense of passion. Teething is both a coming-of-age story and a bottling of the particular magic that is unmistakably – and definitively – Porij.
“Ghost” is an admission of vulnerability about losing a friend; Egg inviting us into their inner world, a world they otherwise fiercely protect. Accompanied by the band’s signature euphoric production, Porij pays homage to the language and sounds of the dancefloor which have encouraged generations to feel, not to think.
