Dublin dream rock /neo-psych / nu-gaze sextet Sun Mahshene have shared the video their latest single “Pale Azure“.
The song, mixed/produced by Michael Richards and mastered by Mark Gardener at OX4Sound, is taken from their highly-anticipated debut album ‘A Place We’ve Never Been‘, due to be released on August 9th. We have previously heard “New Shores” and “Reverie“.
Laden with blistering shoegaze intent, ‘Pale Azure’ is joyous, forceful, uplifting with tinges of melancholy. Speaking about the song’s meaning, lead singer and songwriter Nathan Henderson explained:
“The lyrics aspire to inspire the listener to rise above limitations and chase their highest aspirations. This song celebrates the courage to pursue greatness and the relentless spirit that refuses to settle for less.“

Sun Mahshene “Pale Azure” Lyrics:
I’m looking at the sky watching the sun go down
Dreaming of a way out of this one horse town
Bathed in the light of distant pale azure
Searching for a meaning lost in a faceless crowd
[1]
Now I’m gone
I know the road is long
There’s everything to lose
And everything to prove
God knows why we’re striving, striving for the same old thing
A house and a car and a job and a pension fund
What happened to the dreamers?
What happened to those free souls?
They’re just the same old faces sinking in a faceless crowd
Repeat [1]
